Jamie Whyte’s superb new book Quack Policy, published by the IEA last week, has provoked some controversy on Twitter. The publication cast a sceptical eye over recent examples of alleged “evidence-based policy” in the UK, including minimum pricing for alcohol, banning smoking in enclosed spaces and various proposals based on the “science of happiness”.Those criticising the publication appear to have either not read the publication or misunderstood its argument.
